* Would you like to see the arts contribute more than they already do to strengthen economies in our urban and rural communities and enhance the national image of Nevada?

* Are you a parent, grandparent, neighbor or friend of a child who would benefit from greater exposure to the arts in the schools?

Meet Our New Arts Ambassador: CLINT HOLMES

Clint Holmes

Our newest Arts Ambassador is the multitalented Clint Holmes.

Since moving to Las Vegas, Clint has quickly become a favorite in the Las Vegas community as well as a rising star in the entertainment arena. He was selected as "Best Kept Secret" by Las Vegas Life Magazine, and "Best Singer" (two years in a row), Best All-Around Las Vegas Performer" and "Favorite Male Las Vegan" by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Additionally, he has been the featured performer and host for the "Best of Las Vegas" Gala for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and host of the "Las Vegas Life Epicurean Awards". Clint was inducted into the Buffalo Musical Hall of Fame and into the Casino Legends Hall of Fame.

Perhaps what has endeared Clint most to people of Las Vegas is his never-ending spirit of graciousness. In a short time, he has become involved with several worthwhile causes in the community such as Candlelighters, ROB Reachout, Shadetree, St. Jude's, and various cultural events. He has also taken a special interest in mentoring many young people interested in becoming entertainers by working closely with the Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts. In December 2005, he launched the Clint Holmes Foundation for the Performing Arts, which benefits children in art and music programs in the Clark County School District.

And, of course, Nevada Arts Advocates!

A Message From Toni Tennille

Toni Tennille

Many years ago, then Governor of Nevada, Bob Miller, appointed me Ambassador to the Arts for the State of Nevada, and I have held that position ever since. I have always been proud to be able to tell people around the country that The Arts, in all forms, thrive in Nevada. I know that when most people think of Nevada, they think of cowboys and casinos, and we DO have those. But Nevada is also home to poets, writers, musicians, dancers, sculptors, painters and creative people of all kinds. In fact, some of our cowboys are poets! Nevadans wholeheartedly embrace and support their artists, and the beauty of Nevada provides endless inspiration. My job as Arts Ambassador was to tell the world about the Arts in Nevada, and to regularly beg the legislature for more money for the Arts!!!! I am very proud to have been a Nevadan for the past 22 years.

Nevada Arts Advocates thanks Toni for her involvement as Ambassador for the Arts. The loss to the State with her relocation will be felt by many.We wish Toni and Daryl a fond farewell.
